Central to the religious life of the school is the person of Jesus Christ who came among us ‘as one who serves’ (Luke 22.27). Our Catholic school is committed to reaching out to help those in need, through charitable outreach initiatives. All outreach activities connect to the person of Jesus Christ and to the sacraments, especially the Eucharist. Drawing on the Catholic Social Teaching of the Church, we have a deep commitment to supporting a range of charitable organisations, families and individuals in need.

Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Primary School KingsgroveThe students also get an opportunity to get to know the students of St John’s through visits to each school, which strengthens the relationship between our two schools, and enables the students to see firsthand who we are helping and supporting.

  • Catholic social teaching informs many of the fundraising initiatives undertaken at OLF. The school’s major fund-raiser for the year is Market Day, where the community comes together to raise much-needed funds for an Ursuline charitable project.
  • We also actively support several Catholic charities including Caritas, Catholic Mission, and the St Vincent de Paul Society.
  • The school community strongly supports those Catholic charities where the overheads are kept to a minimum and where their Mission, Vision, and Values align with our own.
  • Through the Mini Vinnies group and the Pope Francis Award program students learn about Catholic social justice teachings and are encouraged to seek opportunities to be active in the local community and beyond and to put their faith in action.
