We value positive relationships with parents and carers to help develop better social and emotional skills in children. We know that when children are engaged with their learning, they attend school more regularly, leading to better long term outcomes.
For parenting and counselling services, visit the Family Support page, and for direction and clarity on regulations, processes and procedures at our school, read the Sydney Catholic School policies.
The school community values each child’s presence in our school. We value parents and encourage their involvement in and contribution to our school community. Parents can be involved in the school in many ways, for example:
- participation in their child’s learning
- volunteer work in the classroom, in the Uniform Shop, on special days such as Market Day, and covering books
- active participation in the Parents and Friends Association and on various committees
- excursion support
- support of special events
Parents and Friends Association
The school has an active Parents and Friends Association, which works hard throughout the year supporting the school in fundraising, organising events, and assisting in many ways. We are a family-friendly school, committed to collaboration and partnership with our parents and the wider community.
The key method of communication is via the Compass portal. School newsletters, Reports, excursions, alerts, student attendance, and School Fee payments are all accessed through Compass.
The school’s Facebook page also offers parents the opportunity to see some aspects of school life.
Parents play a very important role in welcoming new families and enhancing the social fabric of the school community.
