Principal’s Message
Welcome to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Primary School, where faith, respect, and collaboration create a nurturing environment for every student.
Our vision, “OLF – Others, Learning, Faith,” guides everything we do. We are committed to fostering a community where students serve others with compassion, embrace learning with curiosity and determination and deepen their faith through reflection and action.
As an experienced principal, I am honoured to lead a school where students are at the heart of everything we do. I know from experience that children thrive academically and personally when they feel safe, valued and supported. By focusing on the whole child, we equip students with the knowledge, skills, resilience, and values to navigate life successfully.
Guided by our school motto, “Serviam” – I will serve, our students are encouraged and inspired to be people of action. Our Catholic values call them to serve others with humility and compassion. Grounded in our rich Catholic traditions, we provide opportunities for prayer, reflection and community service, fostering a deep connection to our faith.
We strive for academic excellence and growth for every child. We know that when the right conditions are in place—high-quality, differentiated teaching, a safe and supportive environment, social and emotional learning and spiritual growth—students flourish. When our students feel confident and connected, they engage more deeply in their learning.
At Our Lady of Fatima Kingsgrove, we offer a rigorous and dynamic curriculum that blends explicit teaching with inquiry-based learning, fostering curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving. Through student agency, we empower students to develop independence and a love of lifelong learning. We also encourage them to reflect on their learning goals, take ownership of their progress, and develop a mindset of continuous growth.
We celebrate creativity, art, music and sport as essential elements of a well-rounded education. Through artistic expression, students develop imagination and confidence; through music, they build discipline and joy; and through sport, they strengthen their physical well-being, teamwork, and resilience. These opportunities not only nurture students’ talents but also enrich our vibrant school community.
I am incredibly proud of the Our Lady of Fatima school community, and I invite you to experience it for yourself. If you have any questions about our school, please contact the school office.
With blessings for excellence,
Louise Maguire
Principal, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Primary School

The history of the Our Lady of Fatima Parish began in 1948 when Fr Eamon Clune, an enthusiastic Irish priest, was appointed to the new Parish of Kingsgrove-Bexley North.
On 13 March 1949, the foundation stone for Our Lady of Fatima Parish Church was laid by Cardinal Gilroy. Soon after, in 1951, Fr Clune galvanised support from the community for the building of a parish primary school. Fr Clune arranged for the Ursuline sisters currently teaching at St. Bernadette’s, Bexley North to close their school and relocate their students to the new parish school in Shaw Street, Kingsgrove.
On 27 January 1953, the feast day of St Angela Merici, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Primary School opened with approximately 300 girls and boys from Kindergarten to Year 2. The founding principal was Sister Loreto Cleary Osu. By 1956 the school population totalled 500 students, with 108 in Kindergarten. This was the first year that a Year 6 class finished their primary schooling at Our Lady of Fatima.
Over the years there have been many significant events at Our Lady of Fatima School, including a significant fire in 1960, resulting in a total rebuild, and the changeover from Ursuline Sisters to a lay principal and teachers. In 1999 the closure of the neighbouring De La Salle College enabled the primary school to relocate from its original location in Shaw Street to refurbished buildings and facilities at the current site in Caroline Street. The refurbished school was opened in 2001. Further refurbishments and improvements have taken place in more recent years.
Today, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Primary School is a vibrant two-stream primary school catering to boys and girls from Kindergarten to Year 6.
